Vasyl Lomachenko came off the floor in round six to cut Jorge Linares in the eighth, then score his own knockdown in the 10th to become the new WBA lightweight titlist. Lomachenko becomes the fastest ever to win a third divisional title (12 fights compared to Jeff Fenech's 20) thanks to his jabbing (40.2 attempts/11.5 connects per round)and his accurate power punching 43% to Linares' 39%).

Its amazing how little the punches say about this fight. Despite Loma's reputation for low power and pitty pat shots, it was his punches which were much more effective today and Linares on the other hand could hardly stop the onslaught of Loma with his power punches. He was getting pushed around all night by the 'no power'chenko.

Loma isn't going to want to be hit at 39% when he is giving up 10% of his bodyweight to guys with even heavier hands that Linares.

I don't think he should move up to 140. He just isn't big enough.

Very misleading statistics to me. I saw 3rd, 5th and 8th round massively Lomachenko's and would call a certified scams judges who would think otherwise and all these rounds judges agreed with me unanimously.
Yet somehow this punchstats show controversial results in all three.

So according to compubox Linares landed 140 punches on Campbell in 12 rounds and 207 on Loma in 9. Boxing god though.

Loma should definitely stick to 135 until he has more ring experience. He still has that amateur recklessness to his style which is great to watch but probably not very pragmatic when you are going up against taller guys with more weight and reach. That accuracy is not surprising considering he tried to fight inside against a very good puncher.

The Kd reminded me of a thread calling for GGG to fight more like he did against Vanes in all of his fights but there is a reason why good fighters fight cautious when going up against other good fighters.

In addition to that compubox' given to Loma rounds like 1st, 2nd, 6th and 7th were actually given by judges to Linares or at least split given...
I personally agree with 2nd and 6th (maybe 1st and 7th?) to Loma here with compubox but still...

I saw a very competitive fight, and it could’ve just been the camera angles being given on tv, but I definitely thought Lomachenko was up by a bit more than that, even with the knockdown. Still got the desired result, so thankfully it wasn’t left in the judges hands.

... a poster here, sent me a PM before the fight asking me what may happen... I told him that I find Linares to be a sound boxer and, maybe, too big for Loma... I also told him that I can't see Loma fighting at 140...

... As I remember, Campbell tried to stay in the outside all night long...

Loma has a short reach and a small body frame...
