Analyze the top talent Robinson did fight verses who GGG fought that was a top fighter. Do the same thing with Roy Jones, Hopkins, Calzaghe, Martinez, Wright, Taylor, Pavlik, Hagler, etc... The guy literally fought two real threats. Jacobs is one and Alvarez is the second. Both of those fights it’s questionable as to whether he won. No body is misjudging GGG whether warranted or not his handlers built this reputation for him.
I understand your sentiment brother, ggg hasn’t had the most impressive resume. But to be honest until recently he hasn’t maneuvered around any challenge, his 5 year run just happened to be fill with lesser opposition. Can’t really blame him for that. He had arguably fought the number 3 and 2 guys back to back, and would’ve fought in the rematch bout if not for the ped mishap.

If you look at Hopkins middleweight run, the most notable names were Trinidad who started at welter and an over the hill de la Hoya who started at super feather and yet everyone holds him to such high esteem.

Also Roy Jones was so dominant during his reign, but most of his opposition was of a lower caliber. It was fights against a select few like toney, Hopkins I, and the move up to heavyweight that propelled him to atg status because he dominated hof opponents. There were many fights that he hadn’t taken like benn, Eubank, jirov etc yet he hasn’t received the type of criticism ggg has.

In the end, resumes can change positively or negatively post career. It won’t be till ggg’s career is long over that we’ll get a better understanding of what kind of champion he was.

I don’t agree with your assessments bro of Hopkins or Roy Jones... but staying focused... This is why this crop of talent is so important to GGG. He could really set himself apart from the comp and he may have the ability to do so. Right now for me he is on the same level as Arthur Abraham. I remember when he looked indestructible then he got into the Super 6. If he wants to live up to the hype he can’t duck these real threats. No killer is out there ducking real threats.
