Tyson vs Golota

After Tyson fired Kevin Rooney, he basically was training himself, and we all see how that turned out. I always felt that Tyson should have hired Eddie Futch after he got rid of Rooney, as Futch was one of the most knowledgeable guys in the sport at the time, plus early on in Tyson's career he was heavily compared to Joe Frazier so I think that would have been the prefect match for him. -
I remember that well, I felt sorry for the guy but pissed at him for quiting. A real fighter will go until they can't get up anymore.Originally posted by enadeusDon't know if anyone remembered the post fight interview, but that was the most distrubring thing I've ever heard, it pretty much went like that.Comment

everybody thinks rooneys a savior but tyson skills were already deteriorating under rooney soon as cus died , i dont even think tyson was at his best when he was championOriginally posted by La_ViboraAfter Tyson fired Kevin Rooney, he basically was training himself, and we all see how that turned out. Are you kidding me? Does Michael Spinks NOT ring a bell? I mean don't get me wrong, Cus' death defintely started the pathawy towards the destruction of Tyson's career, but you cannot deny that the win over Michael Spinks was the most impressive win he had at that point as he looked simply invincible. So invincible in fact that I think even Tyson himself brought into the hype, and stopped taking his career seriously at that point. I mean I do agree that Rooney was no savior, in fact he never produced another champion again. I am not sure what happened with Cus and his disciples but he didn't seem to teach them everything he knew when you look at both Kevin Rooney and Teddy Atlas.Last edited by La_Vibora; 06-20-2006, 11:01 PM.Comment

thats soo true, i have been saying that for a long time now.Originally posted by Evil_MeatAnytime u see tyson with the longer hair, which is post botha and before nielson, thats the old tyson that could fight, and he had good stamina there too. He got down to a good weight, although by the time he fought Neilson he was out of shape again and not focused on boxing.Comment

Golota has every right to be a head case, he's been robbed out of something big more times than any fighter. Against Riddock Bowe, he was winning on the cards both times, and got disqualified. He destroyed Chris Byrd, and they gave it a draw, he killed John Ruiz, and was robbed again out of a title. I'd be a little fed up myself. If he would have been given the wins he deserved, all of you would be saying something entirely different about his career.Originally posted by Sho-NuffGolota is the most dissapointing fighter...well to ever live maybe. The dudes a total mental case. About once in every five times he steps into the ring hes ready to fight. Ill never forget one of his quotes. "I just had to bite the ****er!" While gettin his ass beat on the inside, he bit a guy right on deltoid man.Comment
