Brook wasn't the original opponent though, it was supposed to be Eubank but he started messing around with ridiculous demands and showed he clearly didn't want the fight. So in order to not lose the date and finding another opponent, G took on Brook instead. Unlike Canelo who took these fools on as the original opponent.

G took on Vanes because there wasn't much money in the pot. But now, with there being enough time for HBO to promote, they'll put up more money.

G was looking to fight Spike for the same reason as Vanes. There wasn't enough money in the pot.
