Comments Thread For: Jessie Vargas: If Amir Khan is Serious - Let's Do it in September!

Former champions Amir Khan and Jessie Vargas were both in action on April 21st. Khan, in the first of a three fight deal with Eddie Hearn of Matchroom, destroyed the badly overmatched Phil Lo Greco in 39 seconds at the Echo Arena in Liverpool. The fight was Khan's first since his wicked knockout loss to Canelo Alvarez in May, 2016 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It also was his first fight in the UK since his unanimous decision victory over Julio Diaz in 2013.

Not a bad fight but I really wanted to see Khan with some good fighters.

That never works out well for Khan. He can only fight mid tier-low-grade guys to get the brits excited. We all know what happens once the fighters are good. Chin Check

Khan vs Vargas is a decent scrap. Shouldn't be difficult to make it happen, especially since A Mere Con called him out.

Absolutely...Vargas looked shot against shot Broner and Khan is straight in there with their names.Decent fight against lower level fighters but if Khan wants to really make an impact there's much better fighters in the division...he knows this but this is what you get with ole glass jaw.

Yup, this is a solid scrap between Khan and either one of those guys. Khan's chin will give even feather fisted punchers a chance if they land a solid shot. But skill-wise I think he edges both Broner and Vargas. I wouldn't mind seeing either fight, but I think Broner/Vargas II should happen first.

Vargas had to do a CW at the last minute.... Full 147 and with time I'm rolling with Vargas.
