wasn't Ivan Calderon beating up DLH in preparation for the Pacquiao fight?

I have no problem believing an extremely talented boxer can get the better of a heavier sparring partner but Vanes isn't exactly some bum.

    I doubt they sparred.

Ever heard the expression “talk is cheap.” Is Gennady popular yet? Or the belts isn’t a priority anymore innit?

i wouldn't doubt it. lomachenko is one of the best amateurs ever. of course he's going to be a handful with headgear and if you gotta wear 14 oz gloves trying to hit him. if they're both working on things, and vanes isn't jus ttrying to impose his size and take his head off the way you'd do if you were trying to "beat him in sparring" [whatever that means,] then lomachenko's going to look great. he's faster, better boxer, etc. not using advantages would make vanes look terrible, but it's sparring and you work on stuff and get in shape.

if they fought pro it would be very different. i remember a story from emanuel steward regarding andy lee sparring jermain taylor. taylor was the best MW in teh world for a time, and an extremely talented fighter, but he got beat up by molases slow andy lee the first time he came to the kronk gym. steward said, "don't worry, this is his gym." if those two fought pro taylor would have popped his head right off his shoulders, but in the gym lee walloped him.

I heard Loma was sparring with AJ and broke his jaw which is the real reason why they're stalling on the 50M offer.

I remember the video a few days back when he was asked about sparring. This came straight from Loma's mouth.

Loma sparring with a jr middle?

Its not that far fetched as it sounds. Boxers spar with bigger/smaller guys all the time. It helps the smaller boxer with confidence in getting in the ring vs a bigger stronger guy and it helps the bigger guy dealing with a smaller fighter with alot of speed and quickness
