  • Comments Thread For: Badou Jack Not Worried About Getting Robbed in Canada

Former super middleweight champion/light heavyweight champion Badou Jack (22-1-2) isn't worried about facing Adonis Stevenson in Canada. Stevenson (29-1) will defend his WBC light heavyweight strap against Jack on May 19th at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Canada. The fight will headline a split-site Showtime doubleheader that will also air the Gary Russell-Joseph Diaz fight from Maryland. Russell's WBC featherweight title will be on the line.

Don't think we'll need the scorecards for this anyway. Want Jack to win but still can't make a pick.

Is Canada known for robbing out of town fighters? From my understanding Stevenson isn't an overly popular fighter there.

I don't see it going the distance. Stevenson is very dangerous early especially given Jack has started cold a few times and got caught but once he gets into his grove I think he'll break Stevenson down and either stop or or Stevenson will quit. Too much inactivity and a putrid run of opponents has done him no favors.

I really hope that Jack is going to win. Dude is a little bit shaky early on, but has a good engine throughout the fight.
If we are talking about prime stevenson, I wouldnt give Jack much chance, but Stevenson is 40. Except some freaks of nature, most guys are not going to win against young top level guys at age 40. Stevenson also only had like 2 rounds in the last 22 months and it is ages ago since he fought against a live opponent or at least someone who has some understanding of defense.

The only dude I know, who gets some things in his favour is Lucian Bute, but that dude was loved all around from the canadian crowd.

Dude was saved against andrade in the last round and got a draw against Badou Jack.

On another note. Since when are fights changed to DQ losses after someone tests positive? Thats apparently the case for Jack Vs Bute.
