You're asking why......are you asking why from a fans perspective? Or why from a judges perspective?
If why from a fan's perspective - I'm not sure, because I think he can win just like that. In fact, he has won just like that, twice.
If why from a judges perspective - I truly think judges get caught up in the "he's suppose to knockout people" narrative, so if he doesn't, then they're judging gets skewed. Basically: they don't come into the fight judging with an objective viewpoint.
