Sergey Kovalev-Eleider Alvarez planned for August 4th, venue location TBA

According to a russian interview with Kovalev posted today, he says the fight against Eleider Alvarez will be on August 4th 2018, in the USA, but the exact venue location is still to be determined.

He also plans to have a third fight before the year's end, possibly in Ekaterinburg, Russia.

Should be a good one. Alvarez is very overlooked. I think he's comparable to Jack; doesn't excel in any one area but is good all around. Still, I got Kovalev by decision or late ko.
Just wish this fight was sooner...

Would make more sense in Canada. I hope the third fight is a unification with Beterbiev.

Yea, I'm betting it happens in Canada. I don't think Kovalev will get the credit he deserves for this win, assuming he wins.

You’re right guys, I agree Canada would make sense for that fight. Montreal Bell Center like with the Pascal fights could be good.

I would guess it would make more money there. If the Canucks show love for Lemieux then they should definitely get behind Alvarez. I'd assume he wins. Alvarez is legit but Kov should get passed him.

Kovalev vs Beterbiev in Russia seems like it'd be huge to me.

I was thinking/hoping that Alvarez schooling Pascal would be a passing the torch for the Canadian fans. Hopefully Alvarez will catch on there but I've no idea. Hard to read that fanbase. For me at least.

Alvarez did win, but I remember it being close enough to not be considered a schooling. Pascal showed heart in that fight as I remember.

This should be a good fight. Alvarez is very underrated IMO. If he's a big underdog against Kovalev, I have no problems picking him.
