And you can criticize Wilder for his technical ability but sometimes a champion can get by on his self belief and heart. Along with a murderous punch.

He proved a lot in coming back to win the Luis Ortiz fight.
And Lance Armstrong bought WADA a drug testing machine, going through multiple tests over decades without failing (publicly, anyway)... And with the scandal around TUE, some of which involves British sports stars, even "clean" isn't clean in professional sports. It's a bit of an amateurish statement to categorically state anyone in sports is a truly clean athlete at this point, which is incredibly sad!

Luis Ortiz is decent, the best on Wilder's record, but old. Sure, you could say the same of Wlad on AJ's, but we both know which one is head and shoulder above the other.

Like I say though, glad the US vs UK rivalry has stoked something in the American imagination, as it was desperately needed.

If Hearn won't give us that then I don't see why his fighter Whyte should be rewarded with a title shot. Not unless he truly earns it by beating Luis Ortiz first.
I see this as record padding.
