Is GGG now the most accomplished, one-division fighter?

Speaking strictly in terms of title defenses and actually making significant noise at one weight class for years?

He hasn't moved up but in this day and age, that's pretty rare. Has he hung around 160 long enough to claim more of a right to be the man in the division than anybody else in other divisions?

If he beats the 160 line up at the moment adding names like Canelo, Charlo, BJS, Andrade or Devrynchenko . Will he then have the resume to be an ATG and hofer?

He has claim to be the most dominant one division champion today, but his opposition thus far hasn't been too impressive. To secure a strong legacy he needs more than paper defenses and has to beat those 5 fighters you mentioned.

        Let’s not talk crazy

Is he the King currently at MW , yes

Was the division weak as f.uck for years , yes

Is his resume relatively thin , f.uck yeah

You can’t say he’s the most accomplished when he’s fought a limited amount of past / current / future world champions and has only 1 future HOf on his resume

I get what you are saying and I'm with you. I would rather have GGGs resume than be a Lomanchenko who could end up a 5 division champ by fighting just 1 guy in each division and never unifying.

Yeah, I know he's the king at 160 right now. And yes, the resume needs work without a doubt.

Just wondering if there's a champion in another weight class who can claim king of the division like he can right now. I mean, hw is between Wilder and Joshua. Cruiser will be crowned soon hopefully and so Usyk or Gassiev will be there. LHW is a mess as is super middle. 154 doesn't have a king either. 147 could be Spence but he's got to get the fights. 140 is prob Mikey but not from one fight. 135 will be closer to being answered on May 12 but still not quite there. See what I mean? No real kings out there like GGG at the moment when it comes to establishing oneself in a single division.

Well the thing is, if Mikey and Easter do unify, Loma can beat Linares, pick up Beltran's WBO strap and meet Mikey in a unification. Then he would be for 135 at least. However, those are a lot of ifs. So far, yes, he's just hopping. And so many guys do that these days. I wish 8 divisions and 1 title was the norm. Would be less confusing.

Of the fighters who are currently active, you might be right. I can't think of anyone else who's at the same level at this moment who's stuck solely at one division. All time though? If you count heavyweight, definitely not, it would be Ali / Louis / Marciano / [insert legendary heavyweight here.] Assuming you exclude it, you're probably looking at another career MW like Hagler or Monzon as his competition, and I doubt he'd beat them out either.

Yeah I agree with you right now Gennady is probably the only hands down king of a division since Crawford moved up

You might. Be able to throw In Rungsai for what he’s done in the last year and maybe that Thai guy who’s 50-0 ( I wouldn’t know I don’t follow that division )

But yeah right now there isn’t many clear cut #1s holding down their division
