Comments Thread For: Tank's Coach: Ryan Garcia Should Never Mention Gervonta Again!

On Friday night, hot super featherweight prospect Ryan Garcia (15-0) passed his toughest test to date when he defeated former title challenger Jayson Velez (26-5) via unanimous decision in Carson, Calif. The final scores were 99-91 on all three scorecards but the scores don't indicate the competitiveness of the bout.

I disagree. Give him two to three years, at his height w/ the right trainer, I'd probably take Garcia.

He has fast hands just like Davis does .

He should carry on mentioning him. Even if they fought and he did get stopped I still appreciate his attitude and stepping up, moreso than tank saying “if I fight loma it has to be on ppv” which we all know is extremely unrealistic at this point.

Kevin Cunningham is right, there are levels in boxing ; Gervonta is elite.

Queen Ryana is just a over zealous scrub that don't know his place, if you ask a true fan if this kid is ready for : Miguel Berdchelt, Albert Machado, Jezreel Corrales or even Francisco Vargas they laugh at you! but for some reason its fun to insult Gervonta by measuring this hype-job to the two time WBA-IBF champion!

I think that it's good experience for Garcia, he has 2 much confidence and thought that nobody couldn't deal with his power, now he'll think twice before calling out elite fighters.

If Tank's name keeps coming out of everybody's mouth, that PPV becomes more realistic each time! I think Tank should seek to unify with the Dib vs. Farmer winner @ 130, and if he's successful, then he should seek Mikey Garcia @ 135! Mikey is a more realistic target than Lomachenko, due to TV and promotional issues. If Tank beats Garcia @ 135, which I doubt he can, then Loma vs. Davis PPV becomes very realistic!

I don’t even think Team Davis need to say anything about Garcia. Just like they don’t say much about Lomachenko. No need for it

Cunningham is correct, there are levels.....thats why Davis has been kept away from the ass kicking that Lomachenko would give him.
