He's pricing himself out again like always. People dont think that Floyd was being real with his talk about a Winky fight but he was. Winky just priced himself out by wanting 50/50 instead of 55/45. Anyone knows that 55/45 is very reasonable for Floyd who was jumping from 140 straight to 154 to fight the other best fighter in the game, and Winky was coming down from 160. Why would Floyd do that for 50/50? It makes no sense. Winky said he was the one taking all the risk because he had everything to lose and nothing to gain but thats dumb. Everyone else would say its easy money. Floyd had the bigger name anyway.
Do you think that Floyd wouldnt fight Pac, EM, or MAB at 140? He would know that was easy money. Floyd wanted 60/40 which still sounds reasonable to me but settled for 55/45 but Winky said he's not fighting for less then 50/50.
Now, if Floyd beats Oscar at 154, his name will be huge by beating 2 popular guys in Oscar & Gatti and he will be coming off of 3 big PPVs. Add to that he will be at 154 where Winky has been his whole career, so what excuse can Winky use then? No way Floyd would give him 50/50 after all of that. Winky cant say he has nothing to gain because Floyd will already have beaten a top fighter at Winky's weight.
Then Winky had a Oscar fight for way more money then he ever would make but he turned it down. Alot of people on here have been making threads about Oscar ducking Winky but Oscar had already offered him a fight before Winky fought Tito and he said No. I remember Gary Shaw saying that they offered Tito such and such but only will offer Winky this. Like Winky was anybody before the Tito fight. No one in the Mainstream knew him.
Go back to the Winky-Mosley situation. Mosley offered Winky a fight a year and a half before they fought but Winky said No, because it wasnt enough money. Then a long time went by, he had nothing, and had to fight Shane for much less then Shane offered him the 1st time. Remember that? He's a idiot. Now he's doing it again with Taylor.
No matter what you think, the fact is that the fight was ruled a draw. Taylor is the Champ and just beat Hopkins twice. Taylor has the belts so what makes Winky think that Taylor's going to give him so much more for this fight? ****, Taylor will say "**** it" and move on. He doesnt need Winky at all. Winky is the guy who doesnt have many options. The only big fight he has left is Calzaghe but he wont make a boat load in that, he will have to go to England, and he will be at a weight that might be too much for him.
I just see Winky ending up as a dummy in the end and if he doesnt fight Taylor now then I bet we will see a Mosley situation in that if he ever fights Taylor, Oscar, or Floyd he will get even less money this time then he wouldve got the 1st time. He better stop acting all ****y like he's the ****. No one in the public even knew him until recently and now he acts like he's Oscar. He hasnt even had a exciting fight until recently and even they havent been that exciting except for the Taylor fight.
The fact is that every guy Winky wants to fight has options but he doesnt. They will make big money regardless but he wont make big money unless he fights one of them and he needs to realize that
