Comments Thread For: Bellew's Trainer: Sad To See Haye Trying To Recapture Old Glory

Dave Coldwell has revealed the extent to which David Haye's ongoing activity undermines the heavyweight's long-term plans to retire young. The former WBA champion and then-trainer Adam Booth for years planned for Haye to retire by his 31st birthday, yet for Saturday's rematch with Tony Bellew he is a 37-year-old injury-prone fighter.

I find it odd that Bellew is a 2-1 underdog with all of these factors. Haye has always been overrated and too reliant on speed and power. Bellew is the better boxer and is much fresher. I'm going to put down some money on him winning for sure.

May god listen to your words. Where I live, Bellew's win is paid 3:1 and I, too, just placed money on him to beat Haye again.

I think team Bellew is trying really hard to get into Hayes head. It's almost as if they're not confident in Bellew's ability to beat a fit and focused Haye.

I remember he wanted to move to America and become an actor, be the first black James Bond.....

Haye only came back for money, he needed more to keep up his lifestyle.

He's fooled all his fans with bum fights and now fighting Bellew.... he has no intention of a world title unless it's AJ and big money.

Haye has been overrated but Bellew outright sucks. Unless Haye body doesnt hold up, he should KO Bellew. Both should retire or move to cruiser. Neither beats any decent HW

Perfectly summarized. Haye is irrelevant Now.

I was thinking the same thing. I know he’s not the same fighter but I just want to see Bellew punched out of the ring.
