He is 100% a HOFer. Wow people are so quick to forget. Do you not recall his streak of amazing performances when he was named FOTY twice if I remember correctly. His run from mid 2007 through the end of 2012 was amazing. He won titles in multiple divisions and in contrast to how someone like Broner accomplished this, Donaire did it by beating real guys who were seen as at the top of the division like Darchinyan, Montiel and Nishioka. And he didn’t just win his big fights, he dominated and viciously stopped them. He was a regular on the P4P list during that 5 year stretch, getting as high as #3 I believe in the Ring list, behind Marquez and Sergio Martinez at one point. Donaire has won titles after 2012, but his main HOF worthy run was from 2007-2012, ending with the loss to Rigondeaux and then the stoppage loss to Walters.

ilikebiketython - youre spot on. i think you left out the fact that hes possibly the only fighter that does 24/7 365 days a year random testing with VADA. i dont think any other boxer does it other than when theyre in camp for a fight.

You're right, I honestly forgot that his run started that early and went on for so long. In my defense I didn't really get into boxing until about 2010 or so, so that's probably why.

Donaire did his best work in the lower weight divisions against shorter guys where he could make devastating use of his left hook and longer reach
But taller/slicker guys who made Donaire come forward gave him trouble, his skillset suddenly looked very priminitive. All he does is keeps his hands up (like Arthur Abraham) and throw wild hooks while on the front foot
