If it's not Canelo, GB doesn't really care to promote their fighters. Oscar putting out there for fighters to sign with him cause he will make them stars yet doesn't mention his other fighters. Linares has a big fight next weekend against Loma, but all you here from GB is crickets. GB and Oscar could careless about Linares career.

The problem with Golden Boy is they don't have a strong line up. I would equate Golden Boy to the Thunder in another sport. Yes they have the Superstar but the supporting cast isn't as strong as the elites.

PBC, Top Rank, and Matchroom Boxing all have stronger lineups. Canelo is obviously the Mega Star but they have been to reliant on him since the Haymon split.

Since the Haymon split Golden Boy's first investment wave of boxers came up extremely short David Lemieux, Frankie Gomez, Slava, Antonio Orzoco, etc.....did not carry that mantle.

Fortunately these next few weeks they have a chance to keep themselves in a great spot heading into the second half of the year. With

With the following fights over the next few weekends such as:

Linares vs Loma
Ali vs Muniga
Vargas vs Azat
Diaz vs Russell
Lucas vs Pac (July)

Golden Boy has a chance to raise the winners to bigger and high profile fights. This is a major roll of the dice. If they win at least half they will be fine going into the second half of summer/fall but if they lose Oscar, Bernard, and company will have some soul searching to do.

Of course, they are not promoting that event Top Rank is. They already got Linares paid whether the event sells tickets or not. He guaranteed a 1.2M payday. You know the money you swore for months Golden Boy wouldn't get for Linares. lol Well you were wrong he got paid.

Why would they promote that fight any further when it goes head to head with their own card the same day Ali/Munguai? That's why you don't hear them talking about it as much as their own events like Ryan Garcia and Ali fight coming up. It's up to Top Rank to sell that fight not Golden Boy.
