I'm confused. Now he is fighting Vanes a retired JMW moving up. Oh yeah and he lost his last fight. pussie g is a disgrace to the sport. Only if he had nuts to fight Charlo like he is so willing to fight bums like Vanes.
Don't be an idiot, Charlo fought 10 days ago. If the stars aligned and he actually fought G on May 5, You'd all be *****ing and moaning that he's fighting a guy on 15 days rest. Guys had more rest between fights in the 50's! Just like everyone is screaming Derevyanchenko but he fought less than 2 months ago. Even though he is saying he wants the shot, he's the mandatory. He would prefer to wait until he's 100% ready. He isn't going to waste is mandatory shot. And nobody believed Andrade would step in. I'm sure Andrade's managers are tired of his callouts and bull****.

And Vanes is 31. Big difference in someone who hasn't had a fight in 2 years, and someone who is retired. Feel free to hate on whomever you like, but just be real.

Jacobs had Quillin, Mora, Truax, and a KO loss to Pirog. He was seen as chinny and was underdog to lose.

Trinidad knocked out Olympic Gold Medalist undefeated David Reid at 154, undefeated IBF 154 champ Fernando Vargas, and #2 ranked 32-1 Joppy at 160. Trinidad was undefeated, known to have a great chin to go with his devastating power, and was favored to beat Hopkins by TKO.
So he won against a career lightweight?

What a world class fighter Mercado was.

Steve Frank absolute legend I tell you.
Nevermind it was his first fight at 160, and that he was a career lightweight.

And who doesn't remember Joe Lipsey?
He won against Derrick James, which was just unheard of.

John David Jackson recently fought at 167, and Hopkins wanted a catchweight at 157.
I mean with JDJ coming off a split decision loss to a guy with a 9-6 record, it's no wonder. How did Hopkins win?

Glen Johnson's best win was the fearsome Sam Garr, a career welterweight.

Andrew Council - what a boxer. With draws against nobodies and losses to even more nobodies, he was a beast.
Exactly my man. I have been saying it forever Bhops middleweight record is rubbish. And indeed Mercado was robbed of a clear victory

He was the best Middleweight of his era, had better opposition and you cannot say otherwise. Hence, he moved up in weight and kept fighting way past his prime. Even Kelly Pavlik at light heavyweight was a better fighter than any of Golovkin´s tomato cans. I could even see Pavlik beating GGG.

Boxrec has B-hop light years ahead on their list of all time middleweights and that´s an indicator of why, better opposition!! Not to mention GGG is at the end of his career and for what we are seeing from all the cherrypicking, he won´t amount to a lot more than he has.

Not a fan of B-Hop's style but nah GGG, you haven't topped him. If you can beat BJS, Charlo and Canelo (again, to be fair) then you'll get the nod.

The Pavlik that was destroyed by the same Martinez that ducked GGG?
