Yes, I agree with a lot of the points you make but I still think how golovkin performed that night made Jacobs look a little better than he really is.
Also wouldnt fighting Saunders in June still leave golovkin with having to fight his ibf mandatory next? He wouldn't get a second exemption to fight Alvarez? It's just a question, I'm not sure what ibf policy is.
Thanks.
nope
once golovkin became undisputed, who cares ?
he can drop the belts, and chase that Canelo money..... because, mission accomplished..... right?
how is becoming undisputed, and then vacating..... worse than getting stripped for refusing to fight your mando/or missing out on that Canelo money?
fighting Saunders would kill two birds with one stone
that fight is the answer to ALL of Golovkin's problems/dreams
and yet..... not interested, at all
I know whyComment

not by anyone with a clue
my opinion about ALL of those fighters has never changed
before Golovkin fought those guys you mentioned, I knew that they would be stopped..... because of style
Golovkin is limited is some areas, but you cannot absorb his power..... it is exceptional
if he can land on you, they will fight you
they are simply playing to his strengths man
basic/standard stuff..... nothing special to see here, just good ol fashioned match-making
those guys you mentioned who were " available "..... were ALWAYS going to be broken down, most of them in the first half of the fight..... they had little/no chance of surviving 12 rounds..... because of their level, sure..... but mostly because of their style
THAT is why you used to hear all that "nobody can last 12 with Golovkin" rubbish.... and btw, casuals actually believed that rubbish as well
I hear what you're saying - but I think to box and move against GGG- you still have to be able to really punch. Otherwise he will walk you down and take your shots, then give you his.
Jacobs had the size and power to keep GGG at bay, as did Canelo. Lemieux and Stevens had power but GGG outboxed them and broke them down.
Basically - you need power/speed/and skill, and be prepared to box and move, and not try and hold the center of the ring, just to go 12 with GGG. Not many guys have that combination at all.Comment

If I had to, I would rate Charlo and Jacobs a level above Lemieux based on the eye test.
But based on resume, there is no real difference among them. All have 1-3 good wins. Lemieux has the 2 bad losses from a while ago but Jacobs has one of those himself.Comment

I answered that in the post you replied to

what you just admitted, is that those opponents were C-level fighters, and not as good as Danny Jacobs..... who is B/B+Comment
