Stevens Lemieux Monroe. I remember all of those guys being hyped up into having a shot
Haha dude they were. This is what always happens. Before the fight guys make predictions and hopes. Then afterwards the guys loses, and everyone calls him a bum. I remember the Loma Walters and Loma Rigo fights. It was like 50/50 on who was going to win.Comment

Yeah but he has a lot of power. And he was a champion. Gotta give credit for that. BJS obviously won that fight but playing the matador to the bull is a dangerous game (especially at the higher weights) and he basically won each round by a few points. Great win but if Lemieux is a good fighter, just got beat by a better fighter that night.
Before a guy loses, he is the greatest thing ever. Then when a guy loses or has a close fight, he sucks. It's crazy.
Lemieux was/is over-rated as fk
I ALWAYS said that he was a limited plodder
I ALWAYS said that Saunders would school/embarrass
my opinion on both of those guys has never changed..... the reason why is because I knew exactly what was up
it is all about styles manComment

GGG ruined Dominic Wade?
Wade looked like garbage vs Sam Soliman in the fight prior.
So did GGG ruin Wade or was it being on house arrest with an impending prison term that ruined his camp/focus?Comment

He was the mandatory challenger. The splits for the champ vs mandatory are already written in stone. Jacobs appealed and still lost. Why would he deserve any more than the mandatory usually gets?Comment

I bet Lemieux has at least one more high profile win in the rest of his career. A Charlo/Jacobs type win.
And Saunders is great when he is dialed in...there is no real shame in losing to him when he is on. I was rooting for Willie against him but he bossed that fight. And Willie is a good boxer.Comment

Jacobs had the right skills/gameplan
it was his movement/control of distance/and tight gameplan, that caused problems for Golovkin..... and honestly, a number of other fighters could/would have done the same thing..... but Golovkin simply does not fight those guys
it is all about style..... if you stand in front of your opponent, then Golovkin will fight you..... because they back his power to break you down, IF he can land
why do you think they have shown no interest in Saunders ?
why do you think they blurted out a dozen silly excuses to avoid Lara/Mora?..... because those guys are notorious for movement and controlling distance
FACT: Golovkin could have fought Saunders in June..... deferring his mandatory, because a unification > a mando..... thereby killing two birds with one stone, and making him the undisputed king of 160..... right?
which would then leave him free to chase that Canelo money
that fight is the answer to all of Golovkin's problems/"dreams"
they had 8 weeks to prepare for Saunders
what is apparent from Jacobs last 2 fights..... is that he is the exact same fighter that everyone said he was before he fought Golovkin..... very good, not great
Also wouldnt fighting Saunders in June still leave golovkin with having to fight his ibf mandatory next? He wouldn't get a second exemption to fight Alvarez? It's just a question, I'm not sure what ibf policy is.
Thanks.Comment

not by anyone with a clue
my opinion about ALL of those fighters has never changed
before Golovkin fought those guys you mentioned, I knew that they would be stopped..... because of style
Golovkin is limited is some areas, but you cannot absorb his power..... it is exceptional
if he can land on you, they will fight you
they are simply playing to his strengths man
basic/standard stuff..... nothing special to see here, just good ol fashioned match-making
those guys you mentioned who were " available "..... were ALWAYS going to be broken down, most of them in the first half of the fight..... they had little/no chance of surviving 12 rounds..... because of their level, sure..... but mostly because of their style
THAT is why you used to hear all that "nobody can last 12 with Golovkin" rubbish.... and btw, casuals actually believed that rubbish as wellComment
