  • Comments Thread For: Hearn Sees Weight as Biggest Stumbling Block For Khan vs. Brook

Eddie Hearn, who promotes former champions Amir Khan (32-3, 20 KOs) and Kell Brook (37-2, 26 KOs), is really eager to match the two longtime domestic rivals. In the last few weeks, both boxers have seen action in the ring. Khan, who plans to continue his path as a welterweight, blew away Phil Lo Greco in 39 seconds earlier this month.

Both Khan & Brook went up in weight and fought Canelo & GGG respectively. So if the money is good and both wants the fight, a catch weight of 150 would be realistic. After all, no title belt is at stake.

Make it a catchweight fight. 150 pounds?

Stage the contest at 150lbs. Khan is giving up 3lbs and Brook is having to cut 4lbs... Both capable of this, the next stumbling block will be the split... I can see Khan being greedy even if he is the A side.

If you ask me they should just split it 50-50 down the middle. Neither guy really has anything to hold over the other recently.

Please stop indulging Hearn, Broke and Khon; the script was already agreed upon months ago when Khon signed with matchroom:

A couple of low risk fights for each, all the while calling each other out, then a cash out finale at 150 and walk off into the sunset.

Agreed. 47 is too much for Brook to be strong. 150 is the magic number. To me, the purse split is where the issues will be.

I'm honestly not interested in this fight any more, especially not seeing Brook's corpse being dragged out at 147 after another 14 week camp.

149lbs tops for Khan, if he boxes at this weight he wins, anything above it’s Brooks
