Yeah right. Keep lying to yourself. Mall ain't jumping with the losing team. #Lions Only!

This is still a ridiculous situation in the MW division. There are so many names in there, we should be seeing at least 2-3 big fights a year, not the Al Haymon type travelling circus with headliner versus tomato can.

Would the situation be different if Golovkin wasn't hanging onto 4/5 of the belts, and only interested in Clenelo?

Maybe. Look what happened when Ward retired from the Light Heavy's, we got plenty of good match-up's. In the Mw's it's a curse, and it's wasting talent.

There's Billy Joe Saunders, Jermall Charlo, Ryoto Murata, Canelo Alvarez, Daniel Jacobs, Demetrius Andrade, David Lemieux, Gary O'Sullivan, Sergey Derevyanchenko, and a few other contenders in there as well.

But as someone on this thread already alluded to, there's a PR trick used to try and fool us fans:

Name fighter is scheduled to fight a bum.

The fight is approaching and there is no interest in the fight.

Name fighter starts calling out a big, dangerous name to get the hype around him and the fight.

      Guy beats and KOs bum.

Guy goes silent afterwards, nothing about the big bad they were name dropping during the build-up to the bum fight. ( or he accuses other name fighter of low-balling, ducking etc )

Then fighter schedules another bum and starts yapping about the big bad wolf once he knows that he is contractually tied up.

Rinse and repeat. (Thanks to Sledgeweather17)
