    Major Taylor Flaw

Did anyone else notice that Jermain Taylor closes his eyes when Wright is flurrying against him on the ropes sometimes. He just closes both of them completely shut, which is why Wright was landing at will whenever Taylor went against the ropes. If you didn't notice it watch the replays carefully the next time you watch the fight and you'll see.

I defently noticed it. Which is why i don't know why he didn't bob and weave or move out of the way. Instead he takes the shot, knowing their not damaging but they were scoring.

As he said he was trying to counter but he forgot to counter.

I've seen many fighters do this but they usally counter right afterwards or counter-punch with-in winkys shots, morales, chavez, barrera do this all the time - they counter punch inbetween their opponets shots.

forgot to add, this was a good lesson for him and gained great experiance in this fight as taylor always learns from his previous fight. he could have made this fight a lot easier by letting his hands go more and that jab would have been great in the early rounds.

That's why Taylor is going to dominate from now on. In a rematch he will beat Winky IMO. He needs to stay away from the ropes. Also use that jab more then he will get successful. But it was an entertaining fight. I don't think Winky want's a rematch.

winky don't want a rematch and even shaw don't want the rematch. you read the post fight article, shaw don't want the rematch either

i'll have to watch the fight again, but im in the small percentage that taylor at time didn't do that bad on the ropes.

I don't think Taylor will ever become a dominant fighter against world class opponents.

I think this fight can only help Taylor in the long run. Going up against Ronald "Winky" Wright is going to be tough for any fighter, the dude is just a slick boxer with impecible defense. It was good for Taylor to have taken him on at this point in his career, it will help him in the long run.

Hopefully he stops doing that **** against the ropes though, if he can't shake the habit he's heading down a bad road when he comes up against a guy who hits as hard as he does.

i hate to watch taylor fight because he can get away with having his hands low, or looking like hes fighting confused and not sure what to do at times. and its not only that he gets away with it, he gets gift decisions as well...

Jermain is still flawed, but I think that he is improving. Is he keeping Steward as a regular trainer?
