I think a lot of people owe Canelo an apology

As it stands, you are the one in here vouching for Canelo's hair sample as if you were the one who collected it and tested it.Comment

I've had a little look around for scholarly articles on Hair Follicle testing vis-a-vis Clenbuterol and honestly their ain't much. The same coupla abstracts come up time and again but actually tell us very little. Yes, Clenbuterol can be detected in hair samples but with a great degree of variation. Research has only been conducted out to a month for sub-the****utic use too, so people saying it can be detected for up to six months are essentially guessing based on research for other drugs. Minimum usage thresholds have not been established, nor have the length of time contamination levels of Clenbuterol would be expected to remain in the system. In short available research is too scant to be able to give any kind of definite or definitive answer on how Canelos hair test results should be interpreted, or if indeed they are useful at all... certainly GBP claiming they absolutely prove he did not use Clen as a PED goes beyond what the evidence supports.

Added to which there are the obvious problems associated with HFT - guys like Canelo with relatively short hair that is likely trimmed regularly may well have grown out much or all drug residue in a timespan of the 50+ days between Canelo's estimated ingestion of Clenbuterol and the time the hair sample was provided. Further we have been given no information to work with about how the hair sample was taken, chain of custody etc. In essence if you believe that Canelo and his team were prepared to cheat in the first place I can't see any reason why you'd think that they wouldn't be prepared to take measures to ensure any further testing went in their favour.

Attacking the scientific credibility of hair testing for clenbuterol because of color variations is simply an uninformed argument. Many drug tests have all kinds of variations. Urine samples can be diluted or concentrated. Asians have much lower T/E ratios compared to blacks etc. — Victor Conte (@VictorConte) April 27, 2018

What does he know he just helped develop a lot of these tests they use today SMHComment
