Why wasnt there ever an AUGUSTUS vs WARD rematch?

Just wondering. was there a reason or did it just never happen. i still think a rematch would have been awsome, especially as a farewell fight for augustus or ward. that woulda been SOOO cool!!!!

Instead of the rematch, Ward got the big money fight with Gatti. Then they had to do that 3 times in a row, and then Ward retired

After the exciting fight with Augustus, Ward got bigger paydays against Jessie James Leija and Arturo Gatti. He then retired. I'm pretty sure we'll all agree that Augustus deserves the same payday to end his career on. Also, just to let you know he only got 30,000 for his fight with Floyd Mayweather.

i know its a shame! they should somehow put augustus vs gatti, see if we get the same results!
