I watched the fight - did you? Ward never really puts any distance between himself and other top fighters. Watch the Bika and Barrera fights if you haven't. He beat Froch 7-5 probably. And it wasn't much better against those two guys.

Ward was managed to be the next Floyd but he wasn't as good in the ring, and definitely wasn't as good outside.

If Kov tested positive for Clen and Ward replaced him with a semi retired SMW who hasn't been in a ring in two years.. Then yes Ward would be an idiot and in that scenario he too should get stripped. Remember when Ward tried to fight Murdock and got btch slapped by the NSAC? he deserved that Murdock didn't belong in a ring vs Ward. And Vanes doesn't belong in a ring againt GGG on three weeks training camp.

Yeah, but there is nuance. It is a stay busy fight for the guy in Ward/GGG's position. I am by no means defending the Vanes fight. Just saying it is a difficult situation when you have a $20 million dollar fight next, and you are 36 and have been only fighting half as often as you would like. Anyone who can't understand that this is a difficult situation is just hating imo
