Basically Canelo cheats and his punishment might delay the fight with GGG for 1 year which gives him a better chance to win the fight and forces GGG to either fight the mando or vacate the IBF belt.

Remember when Tureano Johnson was talking about how much he wanted to fight GGG and he signed with Golden Boy and fought on Canelo's undercard and became GGG's IBF mandatory. He talked about how much he was preparing for GGG & how he was ready for the challenge. He gets the mandatory shot and suddenly he's injured with a preexisting injury. The next fighter up was Wade, a Haymon fighter. HBO hadn't had a Haymon fighter on their network in years.

I think Oscar was trying to set him up to vacate back then thinking a Haymon fighter wouldn't be able to fight on HBO. Johnson never talked about an injury before he was with Golden Boy then suddenly he's pulling up lame with an injury he said existed even before the Eamon fight.
