The deadline has come and past and just like Hearns reported deadline it doesn’t really
Matter
At this level of business its war, the deadlines are meant to get the opponent off guard and make a decision that may not be in their best interest
This fight like every other mega fight involving 2 separate sides is all grandstanding and d.ick measuring with each side wanting the fight but trying to get as much of the pie as possible and if they can knock their rival down a couple pegs then even better
Was this offer serious, yeah I’d assume that when 2 of the biggest figures in the sport acknowledge a record breaking guarantee purse then its f.ucking serious
This pathetic attempt at trying to discredit it is a joke
Between Haymon/ Finkell they’ve been involved in Tyson, Mayweather , PAC , Holyfield , Klit and many more top echelon fighters who have generated 100s of millions of dollars for their fights
To act like they don’t know what their doing or don’t have the reported funds available if accepted is beyond dumb
This fight might from estimates generate 75-150 million revenue. For these 2 men that’s not even a fight they’d brag about it’s just a regular big fight to them. This is like a f.ucking regular Tuesday for most of us. If /when they write their autobiography this fight might not even be mentioned in it
If it was a second rate company like Main Events or if some nobody with no track record like me made this offer , I might question the validity of it but with these 2 men it’s ****** to question it and chalk it up as a PR stunt when nothing in either of their past has suggested that they use those tactics
To quote the great Randy Moss They’re about straight cash homey. These men aren’t like Hearn who make bombastic claims and downright lies and get off to their own voice
They’re about staying out of the spotlight and making big dealsComment

Sounds to me like typical Eddie don’t want the fight! These dudes have done Billion dollar fights so to me if there saying it they can do it!Comment

I don't think that was ever an issue as Hearns offer was consistent with the revenues AJ has been generating over the past 18 months.
There's no reason to think that he couldn't come through on the $12.5m because AJ will sell 90k seats at Wembley, 1-2m UK PPV packages and attract £5-10m of sponsorship with or without Wilder.
So most of the discussion took place around the format being a flat fee and it representing a lowball offer rather than whether or not the fight would generate enough to support it. Love him or loathe them, Hearn and AJ have a track record to point to.
And I get all that and just like AJ has a proven track record of what his fights can potentially generate
Haymon / Finkell have a track record of not throwing out fake offers and being able to make huge fights. Being associated one way or another with the biggest financial fights the sport has seen
This fight maybe a mega fight but in their careers financially this fight doesn’t even crack the top 10
To question the validity of their offer from Hearn and his minions is ******ed
I get it Hearn got caught off guard with the offer and is trying to save face because he doesn’t want to lose control of the event
But His excuses are a joke all of a sudden he’s concerned about Wilders pay , has a problem with fans paying 100k for ringside tickets lbut for some reason never had a problem double dipping with Stubhub to make the avg fan pay more for his events. Like who cares if billionaires get fleeced .
Fight gets made but it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out
Hearn could potentially win the battle when the fight gets made by having control of the fight but lose the war if he can’t generate AJ the type of $ that was guaranteed in this offer and have AJ leave to a team that can
One of them being Al Haymon is about staying out the spotlight. Bro you make very valid points but the reason we are at this impasse now is because of both teams. The blame doesn’t solely fall on Eddie. What’s annoying is that we want to see the fight but this has turned into a promoter war of words. Hearn admittedly likes the sound of his own voice a little to much and the dangers of talking so much is that some fans hang on toe ery single word. However you summed it up eloquently .Right now what we have here is a **** measuring contest and because egos have been dented simple requests such as breakfast / lunch is being scoffed at. I don’t really engage with the who is scared but what I will say is that I’m financially richer than my boss but he doesn’t prevent him from stamping his authority when I’m at work. When you have power it is very hard to relinquish it especially when you are so used to having it
But at the end of the day Hearn works for AJ and by them not accepting the offer especially after it’s everything and more AJ publicly stated he wanted doesn’t paint him in a good light.
Whether that’s fair or notComment

Questioning whether conducting your offer process via Twitter and leaked emails to friendly journalists is the best way of making progress? That's valid in my view.
I get it Hearn got caught off guard with the offer and is trying to save face because he doesn’t want to lose control of the event
I confess I'm getting tired of this circus now, both sides are performing for the audience rather than getting the business side sorted. This forum is suffering as well, debates are polarised and descending into insults.
I want to discuss the fight, not the deal structure that's too much like the day job.
Get it made guys FFS!Comment

Questioning Haymon And Finkels's credentials to make this fight? Agreed, that's a dumb move.
Questioning whether conducting your offer process via Twitter and leaked emails to friendly journalists is the best way of making progress? That's valid in my view.
There may well be truth in that. I certainly think the offer caught him off guard and he bears a big slice of responsibility for his antics over the past weeks, all the Shirley Winkle and Dibella baiting etc. Not helpful in building trust.

It has become a circus but all big fights like this are when it comes to negotiating between 2 business rivals battling over power & $
At the end of the day We just want to see the fight and dontcare who gets what or who won the negotiations
The only thing I will say is Wilders team let Hearn control the narrative the whole time
Wilders team is just conducting a little offence and going to the media so Hearn can’t just lie and make excuses as to why he isn’t making the fight because the pressures been out on him from all sides and we all know Hearn doesn’t want the fight right now so Wilders team is trying force the issue
Will it work I don’t know but I would guess probably not
when the fights announced the sh.it talking won’t stop
No one wants to admit it’s a dangerous fight for both. The bright side is that the loser of the fight d.ick rider fans on here will most likely disappear like when PAC lost to MayweatherComment
