This confirms the darkest rumours that have been circulating around Alvarez. Apparently the Nevada Commission weren't satisfied with the lab that conducted the initial hair test and they sent it to an independent institution in Reno.
The results came back and were so incendiary that a court case has been ongoing with Golden Boy trying to have the result suppressed. That hearing has just finished and the judge has thrown the attempt out as unconstitutional.
This was the press release that the lab just issued on behalf of the commission:
With so much invested in the fighter it's unlikely that this result will go unchallenged. Seasoned observers expect an appeal that may reach the Supreme Court itself.
There's precedent in US history to support such an action. In Harford versus Kowalski (1909) it was established that gingers are indeed entitled to be treated as fellow citizens under the US constitution, although obviously this does not extend to voting in elections or serving on juries or in the armed forces.

'Following many weeks of speculation we can confirm that two samples of hair from Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez were submitted to comprehensive testing procedures. After the first sample tested positive we were requested to make a second test on the so called b sample. That result was consistent with the initial a sample result and we can therefore confirm that this man is, indeed, ginger.'
