I agree, Winky won the 12th round. He wasnt just running, he was still jabbing and dodging jermains blows. Watch the round again like rockin did, as a judge and you will see.
Dirt E Gomez- Taylor/Wright 12th Round

It is true that aggresiveness is good. But effective aggresiveness wins bouts. He was the aggressor but landed maybe one punch clean. His flurry near the end was all caught on the gloves. For a blow to score it must land unblocked by any part of the body, it must land clean. Taylor landed next to nothing that round. Therefore his agreesion was not effective and he should not win the round because of it.Originally posted by ferocitythe round speaks for itself, taylor was the aggressor, taylor tried to engagge in a fight, taylor threw punchs, taylor landed punchs
winky ran! from a fight with taylor, winky didn't put any effort in trying to win the round, winky was on his bicycle for the 12th round where as he was coming forward 1-11, this is boxing you want to win then fight!

The first half of the round was dominated by Wright. The third quarter was pretty devoid of any action, and wright coasted in the last 20 seconds.Originally posted by ferocitythe round speaks for itself, taylor was the aggressor, taylor tried to engagge in a fight, taylor threw punchs, taylor landed punchs

I didin't see Taylor land anything meaningful either.
I scored the 11th and the 12th rounds for Wright.

I agree that Wright won the last round. I have the fight to rewatch and I can say that Taylor was backing up for the first 2 minutes of that round. Wright outlanded him and boxed carefully, WITHOUT running. In the last 20 seconds, he started moving backwards, but Taylor threw only one or two punches in that time and did not land anything. Round goes to Wright. I think the idea that Wright gave the round away is pretty ridiculous.
In the end, it's only one round of 12, so I don't know why it's such a big deal. I haven't seen any discussion of the other rounds that were scored in either fighters favour.
I'm satisfied with a draw even though I felt Winky won the fight by a few rounds.Comment

I dissagree. I gave that round to Taylor.. He was the aggressor. He hit Winky but didn't hit him clean. I just gave it to Taylor. He was the aggressor in that round.Comment

No way. When you get a chance, rewatch. Even Larry Merchant said Taylor was not throwing any punches. It was only Lampley at the end of the round that said Wright had given it away, even though Taylor didn't throw anything while he was backing up. You cannot back up for an entire round, not throw punches and be the aggressor.Originally posted by UndefeatedI dissagree. I gave that round to Taylor.. He was the aggressor. Aggresion is only scored by the judges when it is effective aggresion. Pushing the fight but landing nothing does not mean that you win the round. Cant win a round if you dont land any punches. Taylor landed maybe 1 that round. Not enough to carry the round for him.
