I really like this part by Jacobs.
"I don’t know if Charlo really wants everything that he said he does. He’s very confident, but it’s different being in there when you’ve had the experience and actually done it before, as opposed to never have been in a situation and been in the ring with a killer or a top five guy. When you start disrespecting the top guys, it’s uncalled for and it’s very immature.”
I think he's spot on or really close to it here. I like Charlo, but I definitely think there are levels to this sh^t & once you get to that GGG, Canelo, Jacobs top 5 with top 5 type fights on your resume level the game is a whole other game & just being confident & skilled isn't all that can win or lose you the day like it can vs lesser guys.

Respect to both Jacobs & Charlo doe. I'd love to see them fight later this year or early next year.

I mean thats always the dilemma in boxing. You got the proven guy & the promising guy. And sometimes the promising guy is just promising & sometimes he's the next proven guy. Who's to say who's who til the promising guy beats a proven guy?

Thats whats interesting about Charlo to me. Its like Thurman, Spence & so many others we could bring up who've proven themselves in the last few years one could easily say while merely being promising up to that point. I'd argue Charlo is more promising than proven vs tip top guys still, but if he became a proven guy I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm not invested in the winner so much as I am the fight. Maybe Jacobs wins. Maybe Charlo wins. The fight is the compelling thing that'll decide the answers to the pertinent questions about the differences between them.

I love Danny Jacobs. However, you're fighting Maciej Sulecki. Good prospect, but still a prospect. So if I remove GGG, you have Mora, Quillen, Mora, Arias, and now Maciej Sulecki. It's like Danny's career is at a stand still! I actually think Jacobs needs Charlo, more than Charlo needs him!

"Now I have a huge opportunity with HBO and I’m looking forward to getting those big fights. So I think this year and next year will be those two big years that will allow me to have my breakthrough and become that superstar that I truly know, deep down inside, I can be.”

Yeah, he won't be fighting Charlo at all. The quote says everything you need to know.

This is my dilemma with Jacobs. I'm NYC to death, but I still can't figure out if Jacobs is a promising guy, or a proven guy. Did beating Mora and Quillen make him "proven?" I guess I'm still salty with Jacobs because a) I lost money on him, 2) He fought scared vs. GGG, 3) I lost money on him! Charlo vs. Dervy for IBF title, then Danny Jacobs can come get that IBF title, If he wants to do that 2nd day weigh-in.

                  Sulecki, big underdog vs Jacobs.
                  Centano, big underdog vs Charlo.
D Johnson, big underdog vs Deveryenchenko.
                  Fox, big underdog vs Andrade.
                  Murray, big underdog vs Saunders.
                  Anybody see a pattern here?

One of the reasons I like Jacobs is he has the mentality of a champion. I remember watching a few videos of him preparing for the Golovkin fight and you could tell he was confident but you could also see the preparation. It showed in the fight because he was doing to Golovkin what no one else did before. If it wasn't for the KD I think Jacobs would atleast get the draw. I actually think Golovkin would've given him a rematch if it was a draw.

Like someone said, Jacobs career is at a standstill. He could get back on track with a fight against Charlo, Andrade, or Saunders. Hopefully he doesn't get caught in that HBO bum of the week loop.

Jacobs is a decent guy and represents the sport well. He needs a substantive win and Charlo would provide just that. I hope it happens.
