And yea I suppose I can understand Spike's POV doe. If he thinks he can get 1M for some cashout fight. Or just more than 400k then why take 400k & potentially lose out on the bigger payday later on. I doubt he's guaranteed anything, its always a game of risk/reward in this sport, but logically & more often than not the +EV move could be to wait if something bigger it right around the corner.

And don't get it twisted I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with Spike's or anyone elses take so much as I can see that reality in play for Spike & Spike deciding the odds he can get a bigger payday outweigh that this 400k is his "big payday".

Yeah, Goldenboy and Spike entered into a 4 fight contract, the May 4 fight being the first of the four fights.

Why not? The bar is too low these days. Let Canelo have two hard tune ups: First Spike, then Wade, if he's available. After that, Saunders, Charlo, etc.

Spike vs Lemieux would be a great fight of two B level fighters
The only way Lemieux gets better is if he takes on a big name trainer
Someone who will teach him a little defense to go with his power
All these fighters from MTL need to get real trainers in order to move forward
Just look at Gatti, Stevenson, Pascal
The local trainers unfortunately took them as far as they could
That’s the downfall with Bute , Diaconu , Lucas and many more

I would have like to have seen the fight on may 5... this canelo/ggg saga has dragged too long... gggs career has come to a complete halt... I know ggg won the first fight, so I’d rather see him take on, Saunders around sept, derevyenchenko early next yr, then Charlo and retire... I would also like the see canelo against the same guys
