This grows a spanner in the works of true. Hearn will definitely prefer this to Pulev as lines up Whyte against Wilder, but puts another good fight on before it. After the Ortiz Wilder fight his is far more marketable.

It also puts Wilder in a rocky place if he doesn't take the money on offer from Joshua now. He doesn't want to rematch Ortiz after being rocked and many saying he was behind, equally he has already turned down more than double his biggest payday to fight Whyte.

This may force him to accept an offer against Joshua , or if he doesn't , only will build profile up more for bigger $ fight with Joshua following.

Forget the wilder position for a minute though. This would be a cracking matchup in its own right.
