I checked boxrec. There is no woman's light heavy division so she can't move up. Guessing she wants to explore fighters from lower divisions to increase variety of her opponent selection...woman's boxing is a bit lacking in deepness my friend

Shields has stated she wants the super welterweight title after gaining the middleweight title. She eventually wants to fight Cecilia!

This might be Shields first real fight. Hanna was among the top bigger women in the world a few years back, if not the best. She took a L (which she's since avenged) & had back surgery which might make her a lil less appealing + a lil less of a threat then she was 3, 4 or so years ago. Plus she's 35. Don't hate this matchup doe & this is the first Shields fight I think could have some competitiveness in it for once.

        We shall see doe.

Good fight. I seen Shields fight but not her opponent.
I think its interesting that Shields is doing the opposite of what we see in men's boxing, as far as how she is moving through weight classes. She started high and wants to move her way down. Men usually start low and go to higher weights. I'll be tuning in to watch this for sure.

is this a political correct thing not to downplay women boxing?

I watch every kind of boxing. popular divisions, smaller divisions and fights from all around the world,

but I get no enjoyment of watching women box.
there is power and athleticism missing and the average technical skill is really low. the danger of a knockout is most of the time missing.
I've seen the fight last weekend, Natasha Jonas vs a French girl. the French girl threw extremely bad punches with her chin up in the air.

Also women are fighting 2 min rounds, which is just way too short of a round to get going.
