Good thing Twitter is around so boxers and boxing writers have a platform to feud like middle school children!

I trashed Golovkin for not taking Mora's offer to fight him for 299k a few years back (on short notice IIRC) and that **** goes both ways. 400k isn't enough money to fight for the titles against an aging champion? GTFO. Monroe got like 100k for fucks sake.
Who cares what the known GGG haters have to say they will pick fault regardless, like they're trying to do with you right now.

You can be reasonable here and say, "Thank god Spike didn't take it" because when you look at the bigger picture Spike/Vanes both crappy names to put GGG in with, but I think Vanes has more of a tiny shot than Spike does, Spike would just get blasted out there quick he is tailor made to order.

But they dragging up Vanes off 2 year layoff coming off a loss in his last fight because they cheaped out with Spike. GGG paid weak azz Rubio 450K and house arrest bum Wade 500K and this was before he became the so called superstar now he offering dudes 400K and a used GGG t-shirt and if you don't take the fight you are to blame not them. Especially when they already offer you more money then play games cutting it in half.

GGG should of fought his mandatory or Saunders instead of any of these clowns then he wouldn't be getting killed for cheaping out with Spike or fighting a gatekeeper 154lber who hasn't won a fight since 2015.
GGG didn't pay anybody anything he doesn't choose who he fights lol, blame Loeffler the guys higher up because Golovkin holds no authority to when it comes to percentages.

On the plus side the highlighted of your comment just shows that white privilege is now no longer existing.

New Golden Boy deal for Spike O’Sullivan – Golovkin/Canelo remains the end-goal
          By irishboxing | on April 23, 2018 |

Massive middleweight names Gennady Golovkin and Saul Alvarez remain a big possibility for Gary O’Sullivan – indeed a new deal with American promotional giant Golden Boy could see ‘Spike fight one of the pound-for-pound ranked fighters in December according to his coach and manager Paschal Collins.

In the past few months the Cork middleweight has accepted fights with Danny Jacobs, Alvarez, and Golovkin but has seen all three fall through.

Initially set to face Jacobs in New York this weekend, the Mahon man’s co-promoters Golden Boy blocked this fight.

The U.S. giant wanted to build O’Sullivan as a potential opponent for Canelo – who at that stage was still set to rematch Golovkin in Las Vegas on May 5th. The 33-year-old Leesider would fight the night before and then face Canelo in Las Vegas if the Mexican lost to GGG or in a Texas Stadium if Canelo won and claimed the middleweight throne.

Two failed drug tests for Canelo looked to have messed up O’Sullivan’s plans, but a prize that was more than just consolation reared its head.

Spike became the front-runner to replace Canelo as ‘Golovkin’s May 5th opponent. The Celtic Warrior Gym character agreed to the deal Team GGG sent out for potential replacements and looked all set for his ‘dream’ fight.

However, after the offer, which was already substantially less than the purse offer to fight Canelo in September, was halved, shifting the risk-reward scales significantly, O’Sullivan’s team pulled him out of the running.

No doubt the fighter would have still considered challenging for the IBF, WBA and WBC middleweight crowns, but Collins, Murphys Boxing, and Golden Boy all had other ideas and still plan for O’Sullivan to face one of the superstars at the end of the year.

“The risk far outweighed the reward. The reward outweighed the risk initially but then the risk started to outweigh the reward,” Paschal Collins told SportsJoe.

“Golden Boy along with Ken Casey from Murphys Boxing came along with a better offer. They said to Spike that he was marketable but that he could also beat Golovkin with the right camp.”

“They said we’re not going to prevent you from fighting him but here’s what we can do for you. They came back with an offer within 30 minutes – in writing.

“Then Golden Boy said here’s what we’re willing to do for you and they came with a three-fight deal. They made us an offer we couldn’t refuse.”

The new deal replaces and improves upon O’Sullivan’s original four-fight TV deal with the promoter – which he kicked off with a stunning upset knockout win over Antoine Douglas in December. The first fight of his new contract takes place next Friday [May 4th] at the StubHub Centre just outside Los Angeles.

Another fight would then come in the late Summer or early Autumn before, all going well, a huge fight with Golovkin or Canelo.

Collins outlined how “we can still fight Canelo or Golovkin because the third fight [of the deal] is going to be to face the winner of that rematch.

“It’ll probably be December if it’s Golovkin or probably next April or May if it’s Canelo,” Collins added before suggesting O’Sullivan’s disappointment is being offset by a big financial windfall.

“We know what deal we have, we can’t disclose it right now, but it’s a three-fight deal. Financially, he can earn more money than some world champions have earned in the last two years for his next three fights. That’s how much they [Golden Boy] want to market him because it’s not always about being a world champion.”

GGG and or Loeffler however you want to break up the blame pie. But Loeffler works for GGG and he ok'd all this shyt. But they had better fights for money money on May 5th or in June. They chose shyt options for less money to protect the rematch payday in Sept. They looked for the weakest opponents who would fight for the least amount. That's their right to offer shyt pay just don't blame Spike for agreeing to the fight under 1 offer you gave him and then not falling for bait and switch when they tried to sucker him by cutting it in half. Spike is doing the same thing as GGG turned down 400K and is now fighting a bum on short notice just to stay busy to land bigger money after May 4.

I can understand what Dan is saying, but Spike was brutal with his reply

I don't mind seeing Dan brought down a peg or two at times. I have no problem with him speaking the truth, it doesn't mean he's hating, but over the years he has gone over the top on certain fighters when it's not been called for.

That 2nd Spike tweet and the talk of him getting a 3 fight deal from GB, makes me wonder if he's being given a Canelo fight in September? Hope not, as that will push back a GGG fight even further.

Dan's right. He talked a big game and was offered highest payday and backed down. I don't get fighters. Do they not want more fame and money? Boxers are the worst businessman ever.

I agree they only wanted a weak opponent because its short notice, I'm not thrilled by all of this either, but Spike O'Sullivan is f**king trash!!
Vanes nearly two years out is a better opponent than Spike O'Sullivan at any point of time.

It's just a pity none of them made a serious offer to Andrade or Derey, its clear its all about the money with the GGG team right now which is a big pity.
