Murata is the biggest fight for GGG, second to Canelo.

In Japan that is. 30 million Japanese watched Murata knocked out a guy we never heard before. Imagine the amount of people watching a Golovkin vs Murata fight, properly promoted etc. etc.

Murata does have a country behind him (ish), but I am not sure if the money is actually there. You never heard of Japanese fighters making a ton of cash.

I think if Ramirez bothered to fight someone with a pulse, a May 5th showdown between Ramirez and Golovkin would sell very well. Arum would put some extra resources into promoting that fight, it should make 500k+ PPVs.

Or if Groves wins the WBSS, a fight between him and Golovkin in O2 Arena would sell well (80k again?). Although in that case, you want a good promoter like Hearn instead of Sauerland.

G has a bunch of fights now. He should be complaining about fighting 3 times a year instead of chasing Canelo Sept.

late summer or he can also fight early fall against Murata or his IBF mandatory. Winter Saunders. Charlo early next year. I'd always have G beating Canelo even if it's 2019. But for now he should really look to increase his profile overall and stay rather active.

Why not Jacobs-Murata since Jacobs-Sulecki is an eliminator? That GGG line is moving slow.......

how does murata compare to the other japanese guys in terms of popularity?

Inoue, Shiro, Higa, taguchi, tanaka, etc.. Are those guys household names or is boxing a niche sport over there?
