I used to really want to see the rematch between Canelo and Golovkin, because I hate draws, and they're both fantastic fighters. With Canelo getting popped for PEDs and the rematch getting delayed, it's made me re-evaluate Canelo situation. Golovkin was mandatory to Cotto in early 2015. He became mandatory to Canelo at the end of 2015. Basically, Loeffler has been chasing Canelo down for more than TWO YEARS. In that time, Golovkin became a 2-fights per year fighter and has gotten jerked around by Golden Boy.
In order for the rematch with Canelo to occur, the following needs to happen:
-Canelo shows that he's been randomly tested from May to September, non stop.
-Golden Boy shuts their trap and makes the rematch for September. No bull****.
If Canelo or GBP start yapping, Golovkin himself needs to go on record and say that he's done with them and he's moving on. I've had enough of it.
I wouldn't mind seeing Golovkin vs. BJS in August/Sept, then a mandatory against Derevyancheno in December. After that, either Charlo, or a Cinco de Mayo fight against Ramirez in 2019, followed by Groves or something.
Now that's a solid plan. Enough of Golden Boy's bull****. I understand the business reasons (1.3m PPV is nothing to sneeze at), but enough is enough.
