Manny's Technical skill is extremely underrated

So I was rewatching the Pacquiao vs Vargas fight and It was an absolute domination by Pacquiao. Vargas couldn't land anything on him while Pacquiao was gradually zeroing in with power shots and combinations and even had an accurate jab.

Pacquiao, an old short man out of his prime, completely controlled the fight against a taller, bigger, longer, world champion in his physical peak prime.

Yeah, Manny evolved into a great boxer. Reason why his fights seemed so "boring" for the past years due to the sudden contrast in fighting styles but many fell to appreciate the new technical nuances and abilities he developed. Even in the Floyd fight, for better or for worse, he looked pretty good and evasive.

And you got that idiot Paulie saying Nonito is the best Filipino fighter and all Pac does to brawl and has no boxing ability. He said that in his podcast couple days ago talking about the Cotto fight that Manny only walked through Cotto's shots and threw a lot of shot's, no skill it was all the juice.

I agree! Lacking technical and fundamentally sound boxing skills was one of his biggest weaknesses early on in PacMan's career. His boxing wasn't very organised or structured early on in his career. However, as his career unfolded and especially after his loss to Juan Manuel Marquez, he had become a far better technical boxer with a more organised boxing style. And it had to be, considering his success at such a late stage of his boxing career. Also considering he had a style that was suited to a young man but when he became older and lost his athleticism / fundamentals, he was able to adapt by boxing in a more technical manner.

Yup his more like a technical fighter now that he has grown in wisdom and a lot older. He has to evolved to a boxer/fighter now since he is not getting any younger. His wisdom in the ring is what keeps him dangerous now a days. He's not anymore the buzz-saw that he once was, as we should expect from an old timer, but still dangerous as he Vargas a prime fighter realized during their fight.

you don't get to where he got to by being a 1 trick pony, Manny is pretty smart and he evolved into a great counterpuncher, his timing is incredible and he has power. He always had some defensive flaws and wasn't the very best at cutting off the ring, but he was so good at everything else that these flaws were very seldom a problem for him. Legendary champion that we'll probably see only once in our lifetime.
