Hearn's BIG announcement is allegedly streaming related

Anyone got any thoughts on who this could be? Apparently Hearn immediately shot down it was ESPN+.

might be Netflix but I don't know how that saves boxing because if your not already a fan why would you choose to watch it. ugh seriously if I know its these promoters job to hype things up but come on. Anyway I hope its a tv deal maybe with hbo, or zuffa, or maybe he becomes a "sham promoter" neither option is horrible

This isn’t big news for US boxing fans. The Matchroom stable isn’t that enticing to that group.

exactly in order to introduce them to USA fans you need more than Netflix or any type of streaming for that matter. you need t.v. to show them boxing even if they don't look for it

Bob Arum is calling it a day. Matchroom USA are taking on Top Rank's boxers, drastically increasing their US presence and have signed a deal for their upcoming fights to be streamed live on Netflix/Amazon. The new service will launch at a night of boxing at the Barclays centre featuring unified champion Anthony Joshua defending his titles against Alexander Povetkin.

Why does it always seem like these announcements are

"We have great news for you boxing fans! PPV is virtually dead so now we've found another way for you to pay for our content"

                HBO $14.99/mo

                Showtime $10.99/mo

                ESPN + $4.99/mo

Amazon Prime Video $12.99/mo (they raised their price)

                High speed internet only $49.99/mo

                $93.95/ mo

$1,127.40/ year (unless there's a ppv then add another $69.99)

All just to watch a sport which doesn't even give us the fights we want 90% of the time

Big fatass Dan Rafael was making fun of people who mad about the espn.com streaming thing but that's because he's a fat idiot. People already pay $100+ for their cable package that includes espn, but now they are trying to get another $5 per month from their lower middle class viewers who really don't have much spare cash.
