As a legitimate business, how much should one athlete be continually paid over the other in "risk free" fights. And how is that considered a legitimate "business" when one side is getting paid lovely for "admittedly" knocking over tomato cans? Getting paid should involve RISK! Thats where the CHAMPION of a SPORT draws the line and focuses on the LEGACY of the sport and not so much the greedy business aspect - which depends mostly on a promoters guided well calculated build up and commercial appeal of that "someone" theyre working for. That someone (AJ) needs to be tested OUTSIDE the commercial hoopla & groupie appeal.......which really is obvious.

But he’s willing to in his mind overpay guys to hand AJ bogus title belts. But he’s not willing to in his mind overpay the the one guy people wanna see AJ fight most. Even with a 60/40 split, AJ is gonna make a ****load of money. Likely more than he’s ever made before. It’s like these guys are talking outta both sides of their asses. Wilder brings nothing to the table. But, according to Hearns projections, AJ is looking at a career high payday for fighting him. Doesn’t make sense to me.
So what if Martin was a paper champion? He was an undefeated American HW world champion and they made a shrewd move by overpaying him to come to the UK so they could maximise earning potential ...any self respecting US HW champion would stay at home but they did it because AJ was where the money was. Guarantee AJ didn't get 20 miles for that fight... Nor did he get anywhere near it for dillians Whyte.

Same with Parker .. so what if he arguably lost his last two fights.. it's subjective the judges said he didn't. He still had a belt.. he still commanded a figure and was used as a stepping stone to accumulate a bigger leverage. By the way... Parker did VERY respectable viewing numbers in his home country since becoming champ.. much more proportionate to his standing than what wilder does on average so..

Why should wilder get more? If you switched wilder with Parker and AJ only needed the WBO belt.. would you say Parker deserved more than wilder ? What does wilder bring that Parker doesn't? Where are the miraculous FACTUAL figures to be used?

Wilder beings the fight everyone wants to see. Well, everybody that doesn’t have nightmares at the thought of AJ laying on the canvas unconscious.

You are contradicting yourself. If it's all about the legacy and true champion, neglecting the business angle, why is the split so much of a problem for wilder?
He should accept the offer, sign the contract and prove to the world that he is the best. After all he once said its not all about the money.
Talking about fighting tomato cans, how many top 10 fighters has wilder fought over his 40 fights? I need you to answer this question sincerely.

why is it that i cant get a straight answer?

only ones ya use is floyd and aj isnt in floyds league and ya know it so stop will the bullshiiit excuses already
The answer is Floyd. He paid opponents a flat-fee.

AJ isn't far off making what Mayweather did outside of Pac and Conor.

So Floyd can give opponents a small fee even though he's dealing with a bigger pot of money, but AJ who has a smaller pot of money should pay out millions and millions to his opponents? So the less you make, the more you have to pay out?

How the **** does that make any sense??

And are you saying that every name fighter that fights a top 10 fighter gives them a big percentage of the money?

              Who's everyone?
You're talking about like minded people on this forum... That doesn't make up the buying public for boxing. It doesn't in the UK.. they'd pay to see AJ Vs his bin-man.

It certainly doesn't for the USA... The facts are there in front of us all that wilder nor AJ can draw significant US PPV numbers and again they'd be mostly casual fans in that market

Your whole argument is based on the notion that everyone thinks likes you and likes what you like..AND furthermore that theyre willing to pay for it. The numbers would suggest otherwise .

Wilder as an opponent over povetkin might sell slightly more sure... But not enough to command a fee so exorbitant in comparison to his previous bouts and drawing power that it's above what's been offered currently. The vast lions share of that fight revenue is still generated by AJ... Why does Wilders name on it means he commands multiple times more than his actual worth... And AJ stands to gain a minimal amount more than prior fights?

This is hearns point.. overpayments were done precisely for leverage in this position and let's say... The fight doesn't sell well and actually only does 40 million or so... Judged against previous purses wilder absolutely would be getting hugely overpaid. He does not bring.. 30% - 40% of anything to this. Not to PPV sales. Not to the gate... Not to the international TV.

Floyd’s fights against DLH and Canelo dwarf anything AJ has ever done. Dude please STFU.

I never said AJ did better than Mayweather vs DLH and Canelo. So what's your point?

I actually think hearns gives their game away by saying that Joshua "can continue doing so, in risk free fights". . . .
If you are conversant with boxing, you will know there is no risk free fights in HW division.
A single punch can end a champion.
