Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Promoter: Canelo Should Have Been Fined, Too

Honestly I think the NSAC would have preferred to have let him off scot free, but they had to be seen to be doing something so they slapped him with a ban that effectively only stops his next fight without really impacting his career dramatically. If they took his money as well maybe Alvarez would decide to fight somewhere other than Vegas when he makes his comeback. Honestly, I think he'll do that anyway.

They call him a cheat! They make commercials clowning him! They wish he was fined! They know he's still not enrolled in the testing program! They know he has no title! Yet they still want to fight him in September? HYPOCRITES!

the subsequent clean test that was conducted on Canelo after his positive test lessened his suspension. Perhaps, the level of Clen was also a factor.

Yep, he should be fined, it’s a business GGG gave up his chance to make money and forge his legacy becauese of Canelo problems. Here’s where the sanctioning system is most frail, there is no body, no governance to make fighters do the right thing, just people taking money for trinkets. The current situation with WBA, WBC, IBF is F’d up and needs to change

Canelo was the one who ruined Cinco de Mayo! No one blames GGG for that! But if you're gonna scream "he's a cheat, he should be fined," then don't come back and talk about fighting Canelo in September! May 5th should've been scrapped, and GGG should be fighting his IBF mandatory, Derevyanchenko! He didn't because he wants a soft touch so he can be ready to make that money off Canelo in September! If you want to punish Canelo, you DO NOT GIVE HIM THE OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME THE WBC, WBA, AND IBF, MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD!
