hes a true warrior. if he does a real number on gassiev, theres an argument for him being p4p number 1. its gonna be a tough fight though. winner is p4p top 5 minimum in my eyes.

A true world champion. Others worth mentioning is Carlos Monzon, Glen Johnson, Mikkel Kessler, Wlad Klitschko.

This is what you have to do when you are not a huge draw and come from a country where you will not make a great living as a pro boxer. Usyk deserves credit.

If he beats Gassiev and then Ledbedev(who Gassiev already beat) he would have defeated all the other top 5 guys in the division.

Definitely make a case for him being p4p #1.

Another road warrior is Julius Indongo doesn’t always win but fought Troya, Burns, Crawford and Prograis all in the away corner.

Also Martin Murray, fought Martinez, Sturm, Abraham etc away from home

Usyk Rejects The Idea of Facing Gassiev in Russia

As previously reported, the world cruiserweight champion of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) and the World Boxing Council (WBC), Olkesandr Usyk of Ukraine, withdrew from a scheduled fight with IBF, WBA world champion Murat Gassiev. Usyk, who suffered a minor elbow injury, was scheduled to fight Gassiev next month in Saudi Arabia.

Surprising for me actually. I think he doesn't like the whole Russia-Ukraine situation and it seeps into him to made this decision.

Yeah but if he had a home country where he could fight and make money I don’t think he would be the road warrior he has to be to make the most money.

The klits made their money in Germany because they had to fight somewhere other than the Ukraine

Definitely not a fan but Kovalev should be given his props for his willingness to travel

                      Cleverly in the UK

                      Pascal 2x in Quebec

Hopkins in Atlantic City ( a hr or so away from Philly )
