Still got a bit of a gift in that first Kovalev fight. No way he won more than 6 rounds and he got dropped.

Great fighter though and low blows aside, Ward was on his way to winning that rematch anyway.

Ward is a dirty fighter...he didnt make kovalev quit...he punched him on his cup untill Kovalev was bend over from the lowblows and then the ref came in to prematurely stop the fight.

But you love to create your own special little narrative. Fight Kov in Russia and Ward would get Beaten for sure

When everybody was saying Kovalev & GGG were being ducked Ward said give me one or the other. Whichever one steps up to the challenge. Warrior!

Kovalev & GGG didn't go looking for Ward. Ward went looking for them. True warrior who seeks out the toughest challenges

A lot of people hate Ward because he does what their favorite fighter claims they'll do but never does.
You and I disagree a lot, but Ward beat everyone at SMW and beat the best at LHW while Sergio was prime.

I still give Sergio nod for first fight due to KD, but 2nd fight was much clearer and obviously definitive.

Props to Dre for honoring his word. And he is hard to watch bc of boring style, but I can appreciate what he's able to do

And I believe by stoppage. Sergio was stunned from that right cross and the body shots were just icing.

That fightve would've turned into Danny v Khan with Ward battering Sergio in the next round(s). He was mentally done (turning his back, sitting on the ropes, not offering any argument with decision) and his chin cracked.

Feel bad for Ward that ref didnt let Andre finish Sergio in that fashion, but real fans understand it was just a matter of time after that right cross

Yep. Don't have to like his style or like him as a person. All I'm saying is people need to give Ward credit for doing what they want their favorite fighter to do. Seek out the biggest challenges

Kovalev is one of the best boxers to come out of Eastern Europe recently, besides Usyk and Loma. The guy is skilled and isn't robotic. He has some good special effects. But, against Ward, he came up short twice. The record stands at 2-0.
