So Canelo purposely took a “voluntary” test to get caught. How come he never failed the past test? People don’t take voluntary test when they know they are dirty.

it's not voluntary when you're fighting for the wbc belt. It's mandatory, and unlike when you voluntarily sign up for it leading into a fight, you don't know exactly when testing is going to start. Either way, unless you're testing year round, you can easily cycle off peds if you have a 7 month gap in between fights like Canelo did. If he had been tested just 1 week later, he wouldn't have tested positive (because he came up negative a week later) so there is a chance he just got tested sooner than he was anticipating.
