I think this is just a correct protocol thing more than it means anything. Canelo supposedly just had surgery so I don't see him fighting now even if the NSAC did un-suspend him.

So I think they are just waiting for the NSAC to make their ruling before officially making the call on this May 5 fight which it sounds like they've done unofficially or have a solid list of 2 or 3 guys they are considering & one would assume who've been training for May 5 for a few weeks now.

No. I'm not saying he will get un-suspended. There's ZERO chance of that happening.

What I'm saying is: even if they are waiting on NSAC to make an official ruling - WHY?

The fight was already called off and canceled. I'm not seeing ANY reason why an OFFICIAL suspension of Canelo should affect their decision on who to fight - UNLESS they're thinking "okay, if NSAC only suspends him for 6 months and he's able to come back in September, then we will sit it out and just wait for him"

Which, I don't see how they'll be able to do that without vacating the IBF. IBF will NOT let GGG be inactive for a year with no planned fights while he holds the belt hostage waiting for Canelo's suspension to end.

Unless we see a fake injury coming soon. Which I don't think GGG would ever do that - that's not his style.
