HBO has finally wised up and decided not to pay for guys who have no fan base.

Promoters got WAY to used to getting network money without actually building their fighters names up. That day is ending and it's a good thing.

It's a good thing, for sure. But in Spike's defense, Loeffler offered him X amount of $ to face GGG on HBOPPV. But once PPV was off the table, that X amount of $ changed drastically. So Spike wasn't willing to fight for such a little amount.

It kind of shows that the HBO budget was pretty much JUST enough for only GGG.

like I told you last week..... that is EXACTLY what they could have done with Golovkin if he had selected Saunders in June

give him a 7-10 day break, even 14 days, to avoid over-training..... on FULL diet, light road-work only, purely maintenance..... while they arrange some lefties..... and then slide Golovkin back into the groove with up to a 7 or even 8-week camp should they deem it necessary

they had plenty of time, that is standard stuff..... and they had a willing opponent

that fight COULD have happened, but it did not..... AGAIN, just like the others

Fall for what? There was nothing to fall for. It was on ppv, he said yes because the money was right. Once it was off of ppv, he said no because the money wasn't right. Pretty simple.

1. You can't just "just keep the same venue". You can't just seamlessly rollover one contract to the next and still think it will satisfy both fighters, promoters, T1 Mobile, MGM, fans, and all people involved. That's not how it works.

2. A GGG/Saunders fight will NOT be in Vegas. That's a horrible place for that fight to take place. Besides, both Loeffler and Warren agree that fight is bigger in the UK anyway.

3. Starting and stopping training camp for guys who aren't exactly young is veryyy dangerous. Training camps are alot more delicate than people think. Besides, training camps cost money. Somebody has to pay for all of that. It just doesn't work that way.

4. That sucks what happened to Usyk. That was a big fight. I was looking forward to that too.

these are just silly excuses..... issues that may have been a problem, but would more likely have been dealt with..... just the standard stuff that affects EVERY SINGLE FIGHT lol..... you are making out like a fight is comparable to a trip to Mars

they EASILY arranged Brook, for Eubank..... with MUCH less time

As far as drafting a contract that included Canelo vs GGG and seamlessly replacing Canelo's name with Saunders while everything else in the contract remains the same - that is IMPOSSIBLE. Saunders isn't an A-side. Saunders never sold any PPV buys. I can go on and on...look, that point is a waste of time. If you think that contract can stay the exact same while only replacing Canelo's name with Saunders' name, then more power to you.

HBO is being extremely careful with their budgets. GGG still hasn't found a dance partner for May 5th. A whole lot of moving parts. None of this going well.

Brook and Eubank Jr was easy to make because Brook wanted it that way. Brook had nothing to lose because he'd keep his belt at 47, make a career high earning purse, share the ring with one of the best, fight at home, and be expected to lose anyway. Brook and Eubank are both B sides in this scenario. Both have recognition in the UK. So the money was fair.

Replacing Saunders with Canelo and keeping A side status, same purse, same ppv % split, same venue, ticket prices, same ppv prices, etc all the same would be absolutely ridiculous. You know that. Cmon now.

I get what you're saying. You're upset they didn't fight Saunders. You're upset they don't have an opponent. You're upset they aren't considering fighting any of the people YOU want him too. I get it. It sucks. I want it all sorted out too. But unfortunately, WE don't get to decide that.
