Comments Thread For: O'Sullivan: I Agreed To Golovkin Offer, Then Money Was Halved

A few days ago, it was revealed that middleweight contender Gary "Spike" O'Sullivan had rejected an offer to face IBF, IBO, WBC, WBA world champion Gennady Golovkin on May 5th at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. Instead, Spike will return one day earlier, on May 4th, as part of an ESPN card being staged by Golden Boy Promotions at the same Carson venue.

Lol. I believe it. Someone here was speculating that Spike pulled out because GB wanted to screw GG as some sort of payback over GG complaining about Canelo.
No, as usual, the money wasn't right and the promises were bogus...

Pretty simple: it was supppse to be on ppv - so they offered him X amount. Once it was pulled from PPV, the HBO budget wasnt the same, so they couldnt offer him the same. It's no one's fault.

Maybe it wasnt because of GGG side, he should be asking his people where the money went. Good win on HBO in his last fight, but I doubt he ever gets a shot at GGG again under normal circumstances
