They can still order the fight but stripping him makes no sense....
The IBF never ordered GGG-Derevyanchenko. They can't strip him.

GGG received 2 titles, the WBA and WBC by stripping the champion. Only legit title he won by beating the the champion was the IBF title when he beat Lemieux. How ironic that he'll end up getting stripped by not wanting to fight his mandatory cause he's waiting on a payday. But he was calling Canelo, Cotton and Geale business men for doing what hes doing now.Comment

Were those "fight us 3 weeks from now or get stripped" situations though?Comment

I don't think it matters. The IBF should have been quicker off the mark and made it clear right from the moment it looked like the Canelo fight might fall through that Golovkin had to fight D'chenko next. I very much doubt they can strip him without first ordering him to make the fight. If they are going to order him to fight his mando they need to do it right away before he can claim he already has another opponent lined up, and I can't see that happening - although I for one hope it does. Provided Derevyanchenko is happy to fight for his mandated split of peanuts he absolutely has the right to do so as far as I'm concerned.Comment
