  • Comments Thread For: Povetkin: Anthony Joshua is a Strong Fighter, But Has Flaws

Russian veteran Alexander Povetkin views IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua as a dangerous opponent with a good punch - but says the British superstar also has his flaws. Recently, the World Boxing Association (WBA) issued an order, which directs Joshua to make a mandatory defense against Povetkin. They have thirty days to work out a deal or the contest will head over to a purse bid.

I'm possibly one of the few who considers this the more dangerous fight, at least in terms of the risk/reward equation.

Interesting Hearn has all but ruled out a trip to Russia and has mooted having this fight in the US. Would US fans come to watch?

        Definitely. Sasha can ****.

I thought he would have done a job on Wilder, had they fought.

Its all about glory for me.. I said a while ago that whoever fights and beats ortiz first is the best.. true fight fans know this.. and I admit I was a joshua fan when i thought he was about to fight ortiz.. but he was pump faking.. like tom brady.. wilder fought king kong and stopped him. He faced his demons like a man. Miller, whyte, Joshua, fury, haye, Povetkin.. all are afraid of ortiz. Still. None of them want that work. lol

What a load of BS, Ortiz is the most over hyped of all of them, he’s fought virtually no-one despite being ancient and has never held a meaningful belt nor even contested one until he got his first loss. Potential is all he had and potential ain’t worth ****

Joshua better not have a difficult time at all with this little 'midget'. Otherwise, he'd expose himself. Anything sort of an easy win against this ancient, washed up, shot version of a midget like Povetkin would expose Joshua as severely overrated, over-hyped and horrible as a boxer. Either that, or Povetkin must be extremely great!

              Can't have it both ways!

Povetkin is small and he couldn`t stop Rudenko and Hammer. Joshua is better than both of them combined. I think that Povetkin has a very little chance, Joshua will likely do to him the same as Klitchko.

Carl Takam is small and Joshua couldnt 'Do him in'. Joseph Parker is small and a very weak puncher, you see how that turned out?
