Correct me if im wrong. If you become unified champion...lets say either Wilder or AJ...then with each new fight...would they then only have to put one belt on the line. For example....if they had to fight mandatory IBF then only the IBF belt on the line? I understand all the belts champ vs champ but surely the mandatories dont get dragged across the sanctioning bodies. If the champ lost one belt...would the new belt holder then need to rematch in order to try to secure all the rest of the belts in a champ vs champ scenario? And does that mean that a voluntary has more of a chance to secure all the belts at first try given they are not sanctioned by one particular body?

As silly as recognising a champ that got a vacant belt win? If they get a belt without beating the champ...then lose that belt to someone else before beating that champ in a unification...then we would have a long list of recognised champs that never fought the real champ. We can excuse the fury situation because he gave the belts away rather than be stripped. How do we ever get a universal no.1 challenger status for someone so that they can be mandatory to... and fight for... all belts?Comment
