Eric Gomez, the guy behind this, is a ridiculous compulsive liar. A while back Gomez put out this story that Victor Ortiz needed to get a second surgery for his jaw so people feel sorry for him. A few day later Ortiz, denied it in this interview probably not knowing it was his own promoter that put out that fake story.

Canelo will not have to take any ped tests while he is suspended. If it was to say it was for some medication, he would have done it after their first fight.

Hate Canelo all you want, I don't like the gringo much myself. But please make sense. Yes, I'm sure after he failed two tests, knows he is probably getting suspended and won't have to take any tests until August at the soonest, that, yea he decided to have surgery to mask ped use. After he was popped and when he was in no danger of any ped test for months.

In fact, you do realize, by being suspended until at least August, that means from now til then he can use all the peds he wants to. Which means, if he fights in mid September, he could realistically have used peds for 11 months, quit for one, and have a fight. With all the benefits of 11 months of steroid use and no trace in his system when they test him.

It is almost a blessing. He is suspended for peds, everyone believes he did it on purpose, to cheat. There is no reason not to juice up all he can between now and August. He doesn't need any b.s. surgery to mask anything.
